Charter of the Royal Guard of the Kingdom of Drakenfjord

Purpose Of the Royal Guard:

·        Ceremonial support during court and processions

·        Escorts, assistance and logistic support for the Kingdom Monarch and visiting Royalty

·        Interactive support staff at Kingdom Events

·        Provide sentries for meetings of state at events

·        Act as Ambassadors for the Kingdom at events and demos

·        A Military unit in the line of battle

Organization Of The Royal Guard:

·        Captain of the Guard /Monarch's Guard

o       Lieutenant of the Guard/ Regent's Defender

§         Up to 4 additional members selected by the general populace

Membership within the Royal Guard:

• The Captain is appointed when he becomes Kingdom Champion.
• The Lieutenant is appointed when the Regent announces the Regent's Defender
• Other members are recommended to the Guard by the General Populace

Requirements & Terms of Service for the Royal Guard:

• active member of the Kingdom for the past 6 months or more
• inactive members (more than six months) will have their status reviewed
• maintain dues paid status in the Kingdom
• Guard members may voluntarily resign for any reason, at any time

Duties Of the Royal Guard:

• Captain
• The Kingdom Champion shall ensure that the Monarch is properly defended.
• Oversee all Guard activities
• Organize or assist in the organization of Guard activities in court and other events
• Lead the Guard in times of war or appoint a unit commander if needed.
• Oversee the removal of Guard members when needed
• Oversee the payment of the Guard
• Lieutenant
• The Regent’s Defender shall defend and serve the Regent.
• To work with the Captain or as assigned by the captain in carrying out the activities of the Guard
• The Guardsmen
• The Royal Guard shall defend the Crown and assist the Captain of the Guard.
• Ceremonial support during court and processions
• Escorts, assistance and logistic support for the Kingdom Monarch and visiting Royalty
• Interactive support staff at Kingdom Events
• Provide sentries for meetings of state at events
• Act as Ambassadors for the Kingdom at events and demos
• A Military unit in the line of battle

Induction of New Members:

·        Presented in court where they will give an oath of service the Guard and Kingdom

·        May only be inducted by the Royalty with the Captain and other Guard members present

Payment of The Guard:

·        Guard members will be paid by the Monarch each year at the Mid-reign Event.
